Inspections & Training Manager

Terra-Nova LLC of Utah is a steadily growing and evolving company that operates worldwide with a core group of team members. We create and maintain proprietary zipline systems and cable riding products such as the ZipRider®, ZipTour®, ZipRescue®, and the ZipWhipper® automated climbing wall.

We are looking for a motivated person to work hard, take direction, and work with our team. You will have the support and mentoring of all managers until you have obtained the necessary skills. We are willing to train and support the right candidate for the position. Our facility is located at 340 South Main Street in the quaint town of Coalville, Utah.

Job Scope:

The Inspections and Training Manager schedules and performs training for new installations, and annual, on-going, or special inspections of our existing ride installations. This position requires extensive travel and time away from home during scheduled inspections and training for new rides.

This position collaborates with the Inspections and Training Assistant to complete inspection reports and documentation, implements updates to O/M Manuals and other supplied ride documentation, and supporting communications with current and future customers. The Manager maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

This position:

  • Manages and collaborates with the Inspections and Training Assistant to perform and complete tasks.
  • Performs operations and maintenance training and initial inspections for new installations. Compiles and provides all associated documentation.
  • Performs Annual Inspections of existing installations, produces Annual Inspection Report. Follows up with customers to ensure failed items are addressed.
  • Performs MRT cable scans for new and existing installations and during annual inspections. Cares for and maintains MRT Scanner is in optimal and functional condition.
  • Communicates with existing customers on a regular basis to follow up on operations and maintenance questions.
  • Maintains membership with ASTM and other applicable associations. Follows upcoming ballot issues and new codes. Stays current with all applicable ASTM codes.
  • Assists with updates to Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Inspection documents, and creation of Process and Procedures documents.
  • Ensures Customer Ride Supplied Documentation folders contain most current documentation provided to customer. Communicates with customers and provides current documentation as it become available.
  • Create Service Bulletins as needed as per ASTM format.

Job Type:

The Training & Inspections Manager position is Full Time and critical to the success of the organization. Any personal factors limiting the employee’s ability to reasonably fulfill the full-time commitment, will be cause for a critical review of the employee’s role with the organization.


Managerial Structure:

The position will be directly managed by the Project Manager and Office Manager. This position oversees and manages the Inspections and Training Assistant.

Work Week:

The Inspections and Training Manager is expected to be in the office Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, unless traveling for scheduled inspections and/or training. A 30-minute lunch break is expected and considered mandatory. It is assumed that typical holidays will be taken off. Two weeks of PTO will be available to all full-time employees.

Your qualifications and skills:

  • Valid Driver’s License is required
  • Passport or ability to get Passport required
  • Previous zip line operation or inspection experience preferred
  • SPRAT training, AIMS and/or NAARSO certification preferred. If not, company will arrange and pay for you to receive necessary training and certification.
  • Mechanical experience preferred
  • Good communication skills on-site and at office
  • Ability to take photos on-site and upload to online project software
  • Ability to be flexible amid changing priorities and company focus
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors (in all weather conditions) and at heights in mountainous environments
  • General computer skills (Office suite) preferred
  • General writing skills and document creation knowledge preferred
  • General Fall protection knowledge preferred

Compensation:

The Inspections and Training Manager will be compensated with an hourly wage; the rate is generally up for review on a quarterly to semiannual basis. The starting range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr, depending on existing experience and qualifications. A monthly mobile phone plan allowance of $80.00 will be available to the employee with the expectation of answering basic calls and emails on the device including brief communications outside of work hours. Our company purchases a season’s ski pass for all full-time employees. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our 401k retirement plan after one year and receive up to 4% match from the Company.
