Park City Mountain

1345 Lowell Ave, Park City, UT 84060

The ZipRider® at Park City Mountain Resort has been thrilling guests for nearly 25 years, standing as one of the most enduring summer attractions in Utah. When it opened in 2002, it was the longest zip line in the world and quickly became the resort’s flagship summer ride. Originally built with two cables, the ZipRider® made an immediate impact: without a single advertisement, it drew 100 riders on opening day, doubled that the next, and hit 300 riders per day by the end of Labor Day weekend.

Ziprider® Stats

  • Length: 2,300 feet long.
  • Vertical Drop: 550 feet
  • Average Percent Grade: 23%
  • Top Speed: 50 mph
  • Cables: 4 side by side

After a wildly successful 2003 season — often with hour‑plus wait times — Park City expanded the ride to four parallel cables, allowing friends and families to launch together and race through the trees at speeds reaching 50–55 mph. The upgrade cemented the ZipRider® as a must‑do summer experience and helped shape the resort’s warm‑weather identity long before mountain coasters and adventure parks became industry staples.

In 2007, Park City Mountain Resort added its Mountain Coaster, which climbs the hillside directly beneath the ZipRider®. Watching coaster cars ascend the track while ZipRider® guests fly overhead has become one of the resort’s most recognizable summer scenes — a dynamic, layered experience that showcases the mountain from two thrilling perspectives.

Today, the ZipRider® remains a cornerstone of Park City’s summer operations, delivering the same high‑speed, high‑altitude excitement that has captivated guests for a quarter century. The ride typically opens around Memorial Day, shifts to weekends‑only after Labor Day, and wraps up in mid‑October, weather permitting.
