Suspended above the vast canyon system known as Las Barrancas del Cobre, riders launch from a cliffside platform perched at the rim and accelerate to speeds reaching 135 km/h (84 mph). The flight crosses three immense canyons — Del Cobre, Tararecua, and Urique — delivering sweeping views of sheer rock walls, deep ravines, and the rugged homeland of the Tarahumara (Rarámuri) people.
The terrain here is unlike anywhere else in the world. Copper Canyon is deeper and more expansive than the Grand Canyon, carved by six major river systems and stretching across the Sierra Tarahumara. The ZipRider® alignment takes full advantage of this dramatic landscape, offering a perspective that can only be experienced from the air.
The landing platform sits just below the lower station of the park’s gondola — the first and only bi‑cable aerial tramway in Mexico — which carries guests back across the canyon after their flight. The combination of gondola access and the ZipRider® has transformed Copper Canyon Adventure Park into one of Mexico’s most visited adventure destinations.
The project began in 2012, when the State of Chihuahua approached us with a bold vision: to build a record‑breaking zip line that would showcase the canyon’s scale and beauty. The installation was one of the most challenging in our company’s history — extreme terrain, remote access, and massive spans — but our team completed it with precision and determination. In spring 2014, the Copper Canyon ZipRider® opened to the public, instantly becoming a bucket‑list experience for travelers from around the world.
Today, it remains one of the most iconic ZipRider® installations ever built — a ride defined by scale, speed, and the breathtaking grandeur of the Sierra Tarahumara.
