3rd longest zip line in the world! ZipRider® at Parque de Aventura Barrancas del Cobre

ZIPRIDER® Hybrid

ZIPRIDER® TANDEM TROLLEY (NON-BRAKING) WITH ZIPRIDER® HARNESS

Some destinations demand something extraordinary — a zip line that stretches across dramatic terrain with long distances or minimal vertical drop. On extremely long spans with long run outs like the Copper Canyon, or on alignments with minimal vertical drop like the Royal Gorge, even the small amount of braking friction generated by the standard ZipRider® Trolley can make it difficult for riders to reach the bottom platform.

To meet the needs of these extreme alignments, we developed the ZipRider® Hybrid, a system built around our free wheeling ZipRider® Tandem Trolley paired with our proprietary ZipRider® harness. This combination minimizes friction, allowing riders to maintain the speed needed to reach the end of the ride smoothly and consistently. We also invented and patented a trolley capture and spring dampening system that brings riders to a controlled, comfortable stop and prevents them from being pushed back out onto the line after the springs rebound. Together, these technologies give operators dependable performance, while the comfortable ZipRider® harness provides guests with a smooth, worry-free sightseeing experience.

Copper Canyon: The 3rd Longest Zip Line on the Planet

The ZipRider® Hybrid installed at Parque de Aventura Barrancas del Cobre in Copper Canyon, Chihuahua, Mexico, stretches over an incredible one and a half miles! It is currently the third longest zip line on Earth, taking riders on a panoramic descent through Copper Canyon, one of the deepest and largest canyon systems in the world. Riders cross over three distinct canyons: Del Cobre, Tararecua, and Urique.

Royal Gorge: An Iconic Crossing Over Colorado’s Deepest Canyon

A ZipRider® Hybrid is also installed across the Royal Gorge in Colorado, running parallel to the iconic Royal Gorge Bridge. This installation showcases the Hybrid’s ability to operate on low grade alignments, allowing the ZipRider® to span the vast Royal Gorge while descending only a slight vertical grade. Riders soar high above the gorge and the Arkansas River below, experiencing one of the most dramatic aerial crossings in Colorado.
